Executive Support Center assists in helping you and your employees reduce summer burnout.
We all know for companies to be successful there is a delicate balance for both business owners and employees between work and personal time. In the Pacific Northwest when the sun finally comes out and the days are longer, we want to get out and enjoy the beautiful part of the country that we call home!
So, here are a few thoughts to consider to help alleviate employee burnout while embracing our beautiful summers here in the Puget Sound:
Offer Summer Fridays at Work
Why not offer Summer Fridays at work where employees are allowed to leave earlier than usual, giving them a jump start on the weekends? According to The Motley Fool (https://www.fool.com/careers/2018/06/22heres-why-you-should-offer-summer-fridays-at-work.aspx) 42% of companies allow workers to start the weekend early during the summer, which is twice the number offering this benefit in 2015. They report two major benefits from offering summer Fridays – your employees will feel more appreciated and a little extra time off will help avoid burnout – resulting in even more productivity when they return to the office!
Who will answer the phones if you or your employees leave early? We’re here from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. If you are a tenant, we already answer your calls and can send them to you wherever you are – at the beach or anywhere else your cell phone reaches! If you aren’t a tenant, you can forward your line to us – we can answer as if we are in your office and send the calls you want to your cell phone. Pretty slick, right? Hopefully they won’t hear the kids at the park or your boat engine on the lake!
Bring Summer Fun to the Office
Why not build some good will by creating some fun in the office? Good will is a great motivator – you may see great strides in terms of productivity by creating a little fun. Consider taking your team to a ballgame or having an extended outdoor lunch break with games and music. How about having drawings for gourmet lunch certificates (gift certificates should not include restaurants that offer toy prizes!) Think about bringing in an afternoon ice cream cart complete with repetitive ice cream truck music to accompany your delivery – that is a sure way to see some smiles on busy faces!
Whatever you do to give yourself or your employees a break this summer will go a long way in reducing summer burnout.
Executive Support Center is prepared to answer your phones, assist in routine paperwork or simply be the presence to accept deliveries for your company – so get out there and enjoy the sunshine! Summer is short. Call us today at 206.248.1082.
